A.C.T.S. – 4 Key Points to the Model Prayer

Reading Time: 5 minutes

“Come away with me. Just you and me, to a secluded place where we can be alone and spend time together. I want to know you and be known by you”, her lover pleaded with her. This man loved her as no other person on earth. He accepted all of her flaws or the flaws that she perceived she had. He only saw her as beautiful, treasured and loved.

She longed to spend time with him, just the two of them. They would talk and laugh and dance. It would be amazing to have him all to herself with no interruptions. He was the best listener, the perfect man. (more…)

How to Make Granny Soup

Reading Time: 5 minutes

Do you want to know how to make Granny Soup?

“First, you put you some hamburger meat in a big ol’ pot.”

“Add you in a whole bunch of celery…that’s the secret…lots of celery. Then, you add you in a can of veg all or any vegetables you have leftover.  Next just put in some water, not too much,” she said, as I watched her wrinkled little hands stir the mixture in the pot.

“Well, how much water, Granny?  How much celery? What kind of vegetables and how many,” I asked.

Why Do We Take Our Kids To Church?

Reading Time: 6 minutes

“Why do we go to church?” the twelve-year-old girl asked innocently.  The answer is difficult at best to put into just a few words.  I will try but I’m not a person of  a few words. 😉 Why do we take our kids to church?

If truth were told, it’s hard for the most devout Christian to get up and get the whole family dressed and to church on time without a small war breaking out in the home.

Inspiration of Time and Trees

Reading Time: 3 minutes

It was about 73 degrees outside; sunny with just a whisper of a breeze blowing the whisps of blonde hair across my face that had come loose from my ponytail.  I had pulled it up in a hurry to get outside to watch my daughters play.  My babies, ages 9 and 5, were running back and forth from the horse trough showing me the tadpoles they had caught at the pond with their dad.  Time blew through the trees in my yard…time and trees.

Their happy squeals echoed through the trees as they played and had their little girl tiffs over who owned the biggest tadpole.  Off in the pasture, I heard the little cottonwood tree flutter its leaves in the wind as if all of creation celebrated the glory of God in the beauty of the day.

Inspiration of Faith and Friends…

Reading Time: 6 minutes

Laughter, Perfection, Sunshine, Peace, and Fairy Dust are my “no matter what” friends.

No matter what I do or say or what they do or say, we will always be friends. There is nothing that will make us stop loving each other. I won’t use their names but they will recognize themselves. These ladies have been my “Jesus with skin on” throughout my life.

Inspirations from my Border Collie – When God Says to Let Go…

How do you know when God is saying to let go?  I learned a lesson about this from my Border Collie.

There are some things in life that are acquired tastes.  Foods like onions, coffee, wine, beer and dare I even mention sardines (yuk!) with strong flavors or bold features that make them unappealing to some people.  My husband loves sardines with cheese and crackers. (more…)
