7 Answers to Some Common Dental Questions

Now for something completely different from my previous posts, 7 answers to some common dental questions. Most of you know before serving in children’s ministry, I worked as a Registered Dental Hygienist.  I graduated in 1986, but before going to hygiene school I worked as a dental assistant.  Since 1981, there are approximately a half a bazillion different offices from Texas City to College Station where I cleaned teeth or assisted the dentist.  I thought it might be fun to answer a few frequently asked dental questions. How to Make Granny Soup

Do you want to know how to make Granny Soup?

“First, you put you some hamburger meat in a big ol’ pot.”

“Add you in a whole bunch of celery…that’s the secret…lots of celery. Then, you add you in a can of veg all or any vegetables you have leftover.  Next just put in some water, not too much,” she said, as I watched her wrinkled little hands stir the mixture in the pot.

“Well, how much water, Granny?  How much celery? What kind of vegetables and how many,” I asked.

Inspiration of Time and Trees

It was about 73 degrees outside; sunny with just a whisper of a breeze blowing the whisps of blonde hair across my face that had come loose from my ponytail.  I had pulled it up in a hurry to get outside to watch my daughters play.  My babies, ages 9 and 5, were running back and forth from the horse trough showing me the tadpoles they had caught at the pond with their dad.  Time blew through the trees in my yard…time and trees.

Their happy squeals echoed through the trees as they played and had their little girl tiffs over who owned the biggest tadpole.  Off in the pasture, I heard the little cottonwood tree flutter its leaves in the wind as if all of creation celebrated the glory of God in the beauty of the day.
